THE COVENANT CHANNELS OF BLESSINGS! PART 2 BY BISHOP DAVID OYEDEPO

4. Proclaimed priestly blessings:

Melchizedek was the priest of the MOST HIGH God. He blessed Abraham and the blessing of God rested upon him. By the proclaimed blessing, God brought Abraham out of poverty. Priests are commissioned to proclaim blessings, while God confirms it. The bible says God confirms the word of his servant and performs the counsel of his messenger (Isaiah 44:17).

5. Heartfelt prayers:

And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
25:And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
26:And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
27:And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
28:And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. (Genesis 32:24-28)

Jacob said he would rather prefer a broken leg to miss the blessing. He prayed heartfelt prayer and he had a change of destiny. He was blessed!
Jabez looked at his lineage and everybody was like cursed. He was cursed by his mother from his day of birth. He needed a change of story and God’s blessings. He prayed his way to divine blessings (1st chronicles 4:9-10).

6. KINGDOM STEWARDSHIP:
Kingdom stewardship is your great channel for God’s blessings (Exodus 23: 25-26)
Stewardship provokes the release of blessings upon our lives. Everybody should be somewhere, doing something for God. Things like sweeping the church premises, ushering services, being the children teacher in the church. These things that you may see and think they are nothing are something that provokes God’s blessings on our lives. So, when you are in service, you are blessed.

7. A HEART FOR GOD:

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him (1st Corinthians 2:9).

God has special packages for those who love him. He is not a joker! He means everything he says, and he says only what he means. You can always count on God! A heart for God is one of the major channels of God blessings. Just as David seek after God with his whole heart and God said “I have found David my servant …a man after my heart”. David tried his best to please God always. The same pathway he told Solomon to go through when he was on his dying bed. And Solomon did same  thing. Solomon loved God and he was mightily blessed (1st kings 3:3). It’s is your turn to experience the reality of God’s blessing in your life. YOU SHALL BE BLESSSED THIS WEEK IN JESUS NAME’S …AMEN…..

If you are not yet born again, note that without being born again you are not entitled to God’s blessings. Making this decision will make you have instant access to God’s blessings. Please pray this prayer with all sincerity and confidence:

Lord Jesus, I come to you today! I am a sinner, I cannot help myself. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with your precious blood. Deliver me from sin and Satan, to serve the living God. Today, Lord Jesus, I accept you as my personal lord and savior. Thank you Lord Jesus, for saving me! Now I know I am born again!

If you just say that prayer, Congratulation!!! You are now a child of God. Welcome to God’s family. Try to find a bible believing church in your area as God's spirit leads you OR You can contact us to help you to know and grow in God.

TILL THEN, STAY BLESSED AND MEDITATE IN HIS WORD.

THE LORD'S PRAYER...JESUS PATTERN OF PRAYING AND ITS MEANING.

Welcome to another interesting topic. Our today's message will be on "WHAT THE LORD'S PRAYER MEANS". But first, let's treat the issue of prayer from the base. Let's start with "WHAT IS PRAYER?"
TO YOU MY FRIEND, WHAT DO YOU THINK PRAYER IS ?

According to Oxford mini-dictionary, prayer is a solemn request or thanks unto God. In my new king James version of the bible in the concordance, it is said to be words addressed to God. Another place it is know to be the communication between God and man. There is a definition that I love most which seems to describe what prayer is. According to Bishop David Oyedepo, he said and I quote,

"Prayer is one of the God's ordained channels for the restoration and recovery of your destiny"
    (1 KINGS 8:15)

Everything has its root answer in prayer. Do you agree with that? Definitely Yes.

HOW TO PRAY EFFECTIVELY.

Thought our Lord Jesus prayer is a very known and common passage of the bible but only some believers know how to pray it effectively because they know the meaning and translation of it. We shall be looking into the Lord's prayer verse by verse to unveil every meaning.

And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven,  (Luke 11:2 NKJV)

The above phrases signify that you are praying to the father, the supreme head of the holy trinity.

      Hallowed be thy name.

Being the next phrase in the verse 2, it implies that you have to worship the father to gain access to his presence.

       Thy kingdom come.

God's kingdom is not his word BUT IN POWER. The book of 1 Corinthians 4:20 validates that.

Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

God wants his will to be done because his will is the best. Man will cannot be done because it's far different from God's agenda. Man will is always be contrary to God's will. When Jesus came to the world, he came to do God's will and he is glorified till date.

34:  Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.                                                       (John 4:34 NKJV)

Jesus did the will of the father and he lives forver more.do god will and you shall live.

17:  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.                                                  (1 John 2:17 NKJV)

So, pray according to God's will for instant result. You can't ask God for something and he withholds it. NO! God wants the best for his children so he know the best and accurate time for everything. The scripture validates it that if you request for anything in his will, he will do it.

3: Give us day by day our daily bread.

Most people think that this particular verse is talking about the physical bread garnished with butter or a bowl of rice with fried chicken laps. NO! It's not "God, give me house", "God' give me car", "God, give me trousers". NOT AT ALL ! . It simply means  " Grant Us Access To The Word For Today ". When Jesus rebuked the devil during his temptation, the bible said

4: And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.                                                                                                                                     ( Luke 4 :4 NKJV)

In other words, you need God's word to live. You need God's word to survive.  You need God's word to stay active and agile. You need God's word to be vibrant in your spiritual  well being.

4: And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us.

God can easily forgive anyone but can you easily forgive someone? Some people do keep malice  which is a bad habit to cultivate. if you don't forgive , how do you expect God to forgive you? because unforgiven is a sin before God. The book of Matthew 18: 23-25 shows us where Jesus spoke about the parable of the unforgiving servant.

25:  And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26:  But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.                                                      (Mark 11: 25-26 NKJV)

             And lead us not into temptation;

Job was a very rich man but when the devil saw his his prosperity and God's protection around him. He went to God and he required permission from God to test Job. Job was not tested beyond what he can endure. No temptation is new under the sun that you can not bear. Temptation are there for you to teach, learn and develop you. Job said "even if he slay me ...I will curse him". That's Job saying if God kills him , he will still be for God. See the below verses in the holy word of god for clarification.

13:  Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14:  But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
when you are facing a challenge, sit down and dig deep into the word of god for counsel and advice concerning that challenge.                                                                                                        ( James 1:13 NKJV)

                 But deliver us from evil.

No wonder, God said " touch not my anointed" because you are too percious in his eyes. You are the apple of his eyes, too.

8:    For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. ( Zech. 2:8 NKJV)

So, when you say this, you ask for the God's heavenly security that cannot be tampered to secure you. No demon can harass you, No plague can come near your dwellings.

7:    A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.                                                                                   ( Psalms 91: 7 NKJV)

17: No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.                                                                                  (Isaiah 54: 17 NKJV)
